You have decided to leave your current employment. Write a letter to your employer. Include the following in your letter:
– Explain why you are writing
– Explain why you have decided to leave the company
– Tell your employer what you plan to do after leaving your present employment
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you of my decision to resign from my current position of sales consultant at the Salmat Melbourne. The employment contract states a requirement of three weeks’ notice. Hence, my resignation will be effective from the 1st of January 2013.
I am leaving your company due to personal reasons. My partner has received her state sponsorship approval from the government of Tasmania. This requires us to relocate to Hobart by the end of January 2013. This is because we are obliged to live and work in Tasmania for the next two years, until our permanent residency is granted. Unfortunately, Salmat does not operate in Hobart and I have to search for a new job in a different company.
I would greatly appreciate if you could accept my resignation as soon as possible. Also, could you possibly advise me on how to return my uniform and identification card? I was told by my supervisor that I have to return these items before leaving the company.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and assistance during my employment period.
Yours sincerely,
