How good are your listening tests?
These are brand new OET listening tests developed by experienced OET trainers, following the official exam criteria strictly. The speakers you will hear in the audio recordings are all native English speakers and all the test questions are of the same level of difficulty as in the actual OET listening test. Each part of the materials has been thoroughly tested by OET trainers as well as practised by in-house OET students for accuracy, standard, and audio quality.
Are your tests the same as those available on other websites or in other reference books?
These are brand new tests, as mentioned above. You will not find them anywhere else. You can practise these materials online anywhere as long as you have internet connection. For your convenience, we have included an answer sheet which you can download if you prefer to write your answers down on paper. Writing on the answer sheet should give you exam-like experience.
I'm a doctor / nurse / pharmacist. Will these listening tests help me?
Definitely! The OET Listening test is the same whether you are a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc, as long as you fall within one of the 12 medical professions under OET. So you can be a nurse, doctor, dentist, or pharmacist, and still practice the same listening tests. The materials are relevant to all healthcare professions.
How many extracts are there in your sample sub-tests?
These sample materials are designed in the exact same format as the OET listening sub-test. This means that there are 2 extracts for Part A, 6 short extracts for Part B, and two long extracts for Part C. All the extracts are related to health issues and are relevant to the test.
What is the content of the different sections of these sample listening sub-tests?
The content of these sample materials resembles what you can expect to find in the actual OET listening sub-test (i.e. related to health topics). There are conversations between a doctor and a patient in a health setting, interactions between nurses, presentations on health issues, discussions about patient management, handovers between nurses, extracts on patient records, talks on latest health topics, conversations about problems with patients, excerpts of training for nurses, reviews of patients, discussions about patient complaints, and many more. The content is spoken by native English speakers to help you get used to listening to this sort of materials. Take note that the materials are samples and not actual past-year OET papers or questions.
Are the answers provided of the same standard as what OET assessors want?
Yes. Part A of the Listening sub-test requires you to write the exact same word of phrase that you hear in the audio, so there is no subjectivity there. Part B and Part C are objective questions so the there is no problem with alternative subjective answers either.
Can I download the listening tests?
No, at the moment you can practice on a computer screen online only. The screen does allow you type your answers for question 1 to 24 and choose the options for listening Part B and C. Other alternate The other alternative is to simply write your answers on a notebook and compare the answers once the listening is over. If you prefer writing on an answer sheet, simply download the answer sheet provided. Do not be unduly worried about writing down your answers because in the actual test, you are only required to write short answers for Part A, and in Part B and Part C, no writing is required as you only need to shade the letter of your answer (from options A, B or C).
How often can I take the listening tests?
You can take it as many times as you like as long as it is within the duration of your package. You will be able to log in online as long as your package is still valid.
What if I have a question about the materials?
There is a function in the online platform for you to give feedback about our materials. You can keep a record of any questions you have and send them through to us. We appreciate feedback at all times.
I do not have a credit card. How can I purchase the listening tests?

I have already taken OET and scored less than 350 in the listening sub-test. Will your listening tests still help me?
That's why you need these listening tests more than ever. These are the right tests that will help you achieve the score you want. You can even choose to concentrate on one part of the test which you find most difficult for you. There is flexibility for you to do that.
Can I play the listening audio again?
Absolutely! You will be able to practice the listening test as many times as you want during the validity of your package. We understand that the listening sub-test may be quite challenging for some people (even those from who are familiar with health-related topics), so our tests are designed to allow you to play the audio again. However, take note that you will not be able to do the same in the actual test.
Can I pause the listening audio halfway?
Yes, you can, although we advise that you finish the test in one sitting without pausing the audio so that you can get the real exam experience. Remember that in the actual OET Listening test, the audio will not be paused at any point (or during any particular part) other than when time is given for reading or checking.
Is this a listening course which will teach me the skills I need?
These are just online listening practice tests with answers. The tests are for personal practice and are not a course which teaches you listening skills. However, by doing these tests yourself, you can be sure that you are on the right track to answering the questions in the way that assessors expect them. If you are interested in signing up for a course that teaches you the language skills required to get the grade you desire, stay tuned and keep checking the Benchmark website because we are developing a brand new Listening course, Speaking course and Writing course to supplement our existing Reading course.
