Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is John Smith. I am writing with regard to the part-time job that I am going to apply for.
I am currently a fourth-year university student, majoring in civil engineering. I have been awarded for the top international student twice, which means that I excel at my academics.
However, I would like to take a part-time job in other fields, to enrich both of my work and life experience. It would be ideal if you can provide me with such job opportunities as sales assistants or waiters. Not only can these jobs improve my communication skills, but they are also able to offer me great interpersonal networks.
I have experience of working as a tutor, helping students who have troubles dealing with math assignments and engineering analysis. I know that this kind of work experience is not very relevant to the part-time job that I would like to take, but I believe my hard-working attitude and willingness to learn will meet the needs of most employers.
