A new OET test centre was added to India from July 2019. With the opening of EBEK Kottayam, test takers from Southern India will find that it is easier to register and sit for the OET. EBEK Kottayam is the first OET test centre in Kottayam but it joins 15 other test centres all over country.
According to OET CEO, Sujata Stead, India is an important market for OET as Indian healthcare professionals are ranked among the best in the world. With the addition of EBEK Kottayam, there are now 16 OET centres in India, located in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram, with some major cities having more than one OET test centre.
The OET is a popular test of English language proficiency of healthcare professionals, testing all four components of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is recognised by an impressive list of professional bodies in eight major countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, Dubai, Ireland, Namibia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Ukraine.
