Prior to July 2019, candidates could only take the OET test in one venue in Hong Kong – The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. Due to increasing demand for the test, a new test venue has been added to this part of Asia from July 2019.
Test takers can now also take the OET at the Centre for Professional and Business English at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. According to the programme director at the Centre for Professional and Business English, Richard McGeough, the centre will also have a preparation programme which OET candidates can opt for. This will offer candidates the convenience of preparing and sitting for the test under one roof.
As an internationally-recognised English language test, OET is specific for healthcare professionals and has been gaining popularity in the Asian market. Candidates’ language skills are tested using test materials which reflect actual healthcare scenarios.
